Day 1 til 3: Shooting in Kassel

July 29, 2015Book, News

So here I am, sitting in a Starbucks in München, 850 kilometers from home. It’s only been three days since the project started, but it already feels like a long time ago. To be honest, when the trip started, I was quite nervous. I had no clue what to expect and whether the schedule I had planned wouldn’t be too busy or stressful.

Those feelings were gone really soon though. On the first day, after a 7,5 hour train ride through The Netherlands and a large part of Germany, I ended up in Kassel and met Touko Cosplay and her friends.

I immediately felt at home due to their friendliness and hospitality. They showed me around the city and on the day after, a couple of hours before the shoot, I had the chance to explore a bit as well. That turned out to be a great idea, because the city has a whole to offer. So much, that I didn’t really get the chance to see everything, so I will definitely return to the city some other time to explore it some more.

Later the same day the shoot started, we went to one of the iconic locations in Kassel called bergpark wilhelmshöhe. A huge landscape park on a hill next to the city with a huge Hercules monument at the top that can be seen from miles away. I don’t have the proper words to describe the beauty of the location, so I hope the images in this post will speak for it.

For the shoot itself, the location was really great as well. Touko was cosplaying as Katarina from League of Legends and the trees combined with ruins in the location itself fit that perfectly. I hope to be showing some preview images of it soon! My guess is that they’ll be posted on our Facebook page and Instagram account, with some extra preview images that will be posted in a backer-only post.

Anyways, my next shoot is in half an hour and I’m still in the Starbucks. So it’s time to go and meet with CuteMichiyo cosplay at the Max-Weber Platz to shoot her Saber. I’m looking forward to write the next blog post, hope it’ll be a bit more detailed as well. I’ll make sure to find time for it in the hectic schedule of travelling plus shooting.
